Less than three months have passed since Rell Francis wrote his letter to Ansel Adams.  Virginia, who was an childhood friend of Arthur F.'s, also did not call him.  

Harris does not mention this to Arthur F. Pillsbury or Grace Pillsbury Young.  The loss of these photos and films, the last legacy of Arthur C. Pillsbury had been sold for $100 when Dad arrived at the home in Oakland.  The family clock was in the process of being sold as well.  Arthur F. put a stop to this.  AEtheline, his father's wife, refused to tell him who bought the archives.
