Pillsbury's youngest son, Arthur, who was named for him, commented that it came as a surprise that his father, normally very quiet, was so eloquent and compelling as a speaker.  Thinking about it he added this was probably because he so very much loved what he was sharing with his audiences.  Arthur C. Pillsbury loved nature, and people with a devotion and passion which filtered through his quiet demeanor when he rose to elicit in people everywhere a love for living things, so like, as he said, ourselves.
